My practice focuses on helping clients address concerns related to anxiety, stress, depression, life transitions, and relationship concerns (i.e. communication issues, lack of trust, recent break-up, etc.). As a therapist, I am down to earth and relatable. I value taking a directive approach in effort to getting to the root of the issue while helping you identify and implement effective coping strategies to help you live a more fulfilling life.
I am a clinical psychologist and sub-specialize in couples and family therapy. I help couples and individuals deal with a variety of issues that may be interfering with relationships such as depression, anxiety, infidelity, poor communication, constant fighting, lack of motivation, or feelings of disconnection. My goal as a therapist is to give my clients the tools to achieve the kind of control that lets them be in charge. This is the only true path to a happy and fulfilling relationship. I also help parents deal with children who may be unmotivated, anxious, depressed, or oppositional. I believe parents need to be strategic with troubled children. Sessions focus on empowering parents with tools to reduce parent-child power struggles, stop self-defeating behavior and improve self-esteem and motivation to succeed. Clients leave my office having a clear idea of what they need to do to improve their circumstances. I aim to achieve positive change in the briefest time possible. I have had success with many clients that have seen multiple previous therapists.

Trauma and pain from past and present experiences can stop you in your tracks, leaving you stuck in the same patterns, of thinking, feeling and behaving that eventually lead to building a life of obligation, duty and fear rather than one of fulfillment, meaning and connection. But with a little help, you can pause, learn tools, gain insights and figure out where and how you need to change direction. You are not responsible for everything that has happened to you AND you are responsible for making meaning from the life you are living. How you do this depends on whom you believe yourself to be. Our work will help you to heal YOU. I understand the connection between empowerment and recovery and believe our choices can change our lives. My work includes: trauma survivors, PTSD, depression, anxiety, serious mental illness, substance use and general/social stressors. My clients include : therapists, all genders, LGBTQ, veterans, African Americans, and diverse races/ethnicities. I have nearly 10 years of practice experience, using multiple approaches to help move you from where you are to where you would like to be. I look forward to our work together.

Hi, I'm Brittany! I'm an Associate Professional Counselor based in Midtown Atlanta, GA. I work primarily with young people and am particularly interested in working with individuals in the LGBTQ+ community. I typically serve clients working through anxiety, ADHD, depression, general life stress, minority issues, self-harm and suicidality, and more. I desire to help clients individually and focus on each person’s particular needs and wants. I approach therapy from a lens of being open, accepting, and trusting, and I believe in the power of a strong therapeutic relationship. Therapy isn't one-size-fits-all, so I'm always happy to chat to see if I might be a good fit for you. When I'm not in the office, I enjoy spending time in nature, crafting, reading, and playing with my cat. I offer a sliding scale rate based on income that ranges from $30-$150, but the median my clients pay is $60. If you'll be paying for yourself without parental assistance, you'll likely be eligible for the $30 rate.
Reaching out for support takes courage, and it’s a powerful first step toward growth, healing, and deeper self-understanding. I work with individuals who are ready to explore what’s going on beneath the surface—whether that’s anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, or simply feeling stuck or overwhelmed.
I know what it feels like to hate your body, spend every waking moment thinking about food, constantly comparing yourself to others, and dealing with the sadness associated with not 'fitting in'. Throughout my experiences working with adults and children, I've witnessed entire transformations that come only as a result of addressing both physical needs and our individual psychological hurdles. I'll work with you to find solutions and tackle stressors, including those caused by low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, chronic dieting, or relationships. As a Body Love Coach and Licensed Professional Counselor, I work to equip women and girls with the knowledge, tools, and support they need in order to ROCK regardless of their weight or body image. **I'm in-network for Amerigroup, Blue Cross Blue Shield/Anthem, CareSource, Humana, and Peach State. I also provide therapy virtually and in the community.
Does life sometimes look different than you expected it to be? Do you wonder about your life purpose or what gives you value? We all wrestle with our identity and challenge our self-worth when difficult times emerge in our lives. Some of us struggle with depression, anxiety, grief, or life stage issues and need someone to walk with us and help us navigate during those times. I would love to journey with you through the ordinary and the extraordinary moments of your life. I weave the unique knowledge of theology and counseling into practice together when desired by the individual. I have worked with various populations, serving in both rural and urban settings as a therapist, crisis clinician, and pastor. I specialize in psychological and spiritual wellness by taking a holistic view of the person in the community.

As a holistic provider, her focus is on medication management (including for patients wishing to decrease reliance on medication) in combination with extensive psycho-education and referral to a trusted therapist where appropriate. She has a particular interest in treating young adults with non-traditional backgrounds, including racial minorities. Through secure video, Dr. Apraku can treat anyone located in state. Hi, I'm Madeline! At the heart of my work is a deep belief in the power of authentic, meaningful human connection. From a person-centered, trauma-informed approach, I strive to meet each client exactly where they are, with empathy, gentle care, and acceptance. As a fellow creative, I love incorporating play, art, and expressive tools into the therapy process. With specialized training in play therapy and expressive arts approaches, enjoy using creative, personalized interventions to empower clients as they express themselves, explore and gain insight into emotions and experiences, and build on their unique strengths. I believe therapy should be a safe, developmentally appropriate space where you can feel truly seen, heard, and supported. I also value collaboration, partnering with families to offer helpful resources and build a strong support system rooted in trust that nurtures growth and healing. Before joining the team at Early Connections, I worked with children, teens, and young adults in a community mental health setting, offering individual and family counseling to those navigating anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, suicidal ideation, childhood trauma, school challenges, and adjustment. I’ve also supported undergraduate college students through social, emotional, and academic challenges in a university setting. Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of working as a research assistant, focusing on suicide prevention in vulnerable populations. These valuable experiences have all shaped my heart for this work. I’m especially passionate about supporting others through anxiety, depression, stress, life changes, trauma, grief and loss, and issues related to emotional regulation, identity, and self-worth. I earned my Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology from the University of Georgia, where I also studied Human Services and Human Development and Family Science. I received my Master of Science (M.S.) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University. I am an Associate Professional Counselor (APC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC), working towards full licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and pursuing my Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential. I’m also an active member of the American Counseling Association and Association for Play Therapy. As an Associate Professional Counselor, I will be working under the supervision of Lauren Brown, LPC, NCC, RPT-S, the owner of Early Connections Child and Family Counseling. Outside of the counseling space, I’m someone who recharges through creativity and connection. I enjoy a good art project, playing guitar, reading, exploring new coffee shops, and spending quality time with my loved ones. I’m so glad that you are here. I’d be honored to connect with you and walk alongside you on your journey!

Research shows that it is the relationship between the client and the therapist that is the most important factor for success. I work to build a collaborative relationship that is rich, trusting, and productive. I look to encourage curiosity toward our experiences, where thoughts and patterns can be put into words. My work with people often centers around feelings of anxiety, dissatisfaction with important relationships or career, confusing ways of behaving, and a lack of clarity about why we feel the way we do. Often there is the sense that previous ways of being and thinking in the world may not be working as well as they used to. I believe Psychotherapy is an art and a science. Thinking together, we often find a better understanding of ourselves and our behavior, with a new sense of freedom and flexibility toward life that can be more strategic and less reactive, showing us a way of being and relating to others that is more creative, effective, and ultimately more fulfilling.
